Privacy Policy for DevicesController

Effective Date: October 21, 2026 | Application: DevicesController (com.guidasworld.devicescontroller)

1. Overview

At Guidasworld, we prioritize your privacy and transparency. This Privacy Policy explains how DevicesController ("the Application", "we", "us", or "our") handles user information when you use our mobile and desktop applications.

Summary: DevicesController is an offline-first hardware management tool. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data, usage metrics, or identifiable information to external servers or third parties.

2. Information Collection and Use

DevicesController is designed to function locally on your device to interact directly with hardware controllers (such as Arduino, ESP32, and Bluetooth SPP/BLE modules).

  • No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, device identifiers, or IP addresses.
  • No Third-Party Analytics or Ads: The Application does not contain any third-party advertising SDKs, analytical trackers, or behavioral profiling tools.
  • No Account Creation: You do not need to register, log in, or provide any credentials to use the Application.

3. Device Permissions and How They Are Used

To provide device discovery, serial communication, and voice-assisted hardware controls, DevicesController requests the following Android permissions:

A. Bluetooth Permissions

BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN

Purpose: Used strictly to discover nearby Bluetooth serial/BLE hardware devices, establish a direct wireless connection, and transmit relay control commands (e.g., turning relays on/off).

Data Handling: No device identifiers or communication logs are transmitted outside of the direct local Bluetooth link between your phone and your physical board.

B. Location Permissions

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Purpose: Required by older Android operating system versions (Android 6.0 through Android 11) as a platform requirement to allow apps to scan for nearby Bluetooth peripherals.

Prominent Disclosure: DevicesController does not determine, access, track, record, or share your geographical or GPS location.

C. Microphone / Audio Recording

RECORD_AUDIO, MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS

Purpose: Used exclusively when you interact with the bilingual hands-free Voice Assistant feature ("Hey Max" in English / "Salut Max" in French) to recognize hardware commands.

Prominent Disclosure: All voice recognition is executed locally and in real time on your device. Audio is never recorded, stored, uploaded, or transmitted to any external servers or third parties.

4. Local Data Storage and Preferences

The Application stores user-defined configuration settings locally on your device using Android's private sandboxed storage (SharedPreferences):

  • Custom serial ASCII command characters for hardware relays
  • Custom relay display labels
  • Last-connected Bluetooth device MAC address (for the optional Auto-Reconnect feature)
  • Voice assistant configuration (language selection and sound cue muting)
  • Dark mode and theme preferences

This information never leaves your device.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because DevicesController does not collect or transmit user data to external servers, we do not maintain any user databases. You can permanently and immediately delete all locally saved preferences and cached data at any time by clearing the Application's storage in your device's Settings → Apps → DevicesController → Storage → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the Application.

6. Children's Privacy

DevicesController does not address or target anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.

7. Security

All communication between the Application and your hardware controllers occurs over a direct, local Bluetooth or serial connection. We do not operate external intermediate servers or cloud relays.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
